Swedish people are strange :
They are pacifist ...
They did not kill their king ... and now they have got a beautifull princess of postcard

They split with Norway peacefully in 1905 when the rest of Europe did not even know this word. They did not stay together because they were not speaking the same langage but they are able to understand each other ! With Enrico we tried to explain to Anna and Niklas that Norway was not fair because it got all the offshore oil. They answered that none knew at this time. We said that is why Sweden should not have left Norway, at least peacefully, because you newer know what will happen... We told them Alsace and Lorraine but nothing to do !
... and tolerant.
A lot of buildinds and buses were dresssed with rainbow colors because there was a gay pride.

Before leaving Stockholm, we went to the supermarket.
We bought strange swedish bread.

For shrimps, like this....

or in tube ?

With the vegetables, we found some vitamins in case we were trapped in the winter...

No way to buy alcohol in supermarket, you have to go to the Estate shop.

Then we caught the train to go Gallimare, 1500 km further north, beyond the polar circle. The train was a bite late, 22 hours instead of 17. There was some work on the track.

We dropped off the bus in a nice place. The plan was to hike the Kebnekaise (2200 meters) and then to go to Nikkalokta. We forecasted 5 days.

During two days, we hiked in valleys

we crossed lakes

and rivers

and we arrived at the bottom of kebnekaise where Father Christmas was taking of.

We began the hike up with a very rocky slope.

and we kept on walking with snow
the end was like mountaineering.
At the top, we were lucky : the view was amazing.
But we wanted to get down before winter.
walking down

or sledging down
First time in my life my backpack makes me faster !!Again a nice place to camp :
And we caught the boat
to see some reindeers
between slices of bread. That is where my friends left me and went back home. I pitched my tent not far away of this lapdonalds to get my coffe and my cookies every day.

I could have stayed there to watch birds and clouds on the Keb

to make fire to cook and to dry my clothes. By the way, I won't talk about the weather in laplands. We were very lucky at the top of the Keb and it was better than Scotland so ....

But Lapdonald's boss said he would cook if I caught a trout more than 3 kilos. It was a challenge. I went fishing a lot. I caught a lot of big graylings.

some trouts but no big one.

and once...

a pike !! I went to the lapdonalds. I knew it was not as good as a big trout. I was happy anyway. But patatra, Andreas told me swedish people don't eat that kind of fish because it lives in places there is no current. He said it is like aligator ! The taste is not good. He finaly cooked it after i promess i would kill and leave in water next pike i fish. I love travels :-)
During the last few days, it was raining. My fishing stuff was not working very well anymore. So i thought a lot about differences beetween cultures, fish appreciation and cooking!! I think french sauces would give a good taste to stones. That's maybe why the taste of the fish is not that important.
When fishing, I saw an elk and i was happy it was on the the other bank of the river because the footprints on my side were quite impressive.

Anyway, it was time to go to Scotland.
